The National Film Board of Canada (NFB) and Nunavut Film Development Corporation (NFDC) present an intensive five day training opportunity for the Nunavut film, television and digital media production community.

When: Monday, November 15 – Friday, November 19, 2010
Where: Iqaluit, Nunavut

Stories from Our Land is a five-day intensive, hands-on training opportunity designed to equip Nunavut’s film and media makers
with the skills necessary to produce drama, documentary and interactive media projects.

At the end of the week the NFB will award 3 to 4 filmmakers an opportunity to produce their story over the following 12 months. Sessions will be conducted by leading film, television and digital media experts from across Canada and will include:

  • Intro to the Interactive Storytelling Process
  • Approaching Story
  • A Producers Job
  • The Director at Work
  • Camera and Lighting
  • Sound Work
  • Editing

NFB and NFDC will provide airfare, 6 nights accommodation and meals to 16 Nunavut filmmakers from communities outside Iqaluit. There will be an additional 10 spaces available for filmmakers residing in Iqaluit.

To apply please provide your story idea, and be ready to pitch your project during the week. Successful applicants will be informed on or before October 1, 2010.
