What is the “Nunavut FIT Professional Development Fund”?
Awards Nunavut Inuit with assistance up to $6,000.00 to cover his/her costs to attend
training designed to enhance ongoing professional development.
Eligibility of Applicant
The applicant must meet the following minimum criteria:
- Be enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement
- Have at least one credit on a film, television or digital media project
- Be in good standing with Nunavut Film Development Corporation.
Eligible Professional Development (PD) Training Opportunities
Professional Development (PD) opportunities include national and international training programs, on-set training, mentorships, self- designed training, on-line training.
Eligible Costs
The following costs are eligible for consideration:
- Registration fees
- Return airfare (based on economy rates)
- Accommodation
- Ground transportation
- Per diem as outlined in Nunavut Film’s per diem rate sheet
Nunavut FIT Contribution
Nunavut FIT will provide up to $6,000 towards the final approved ‘Eligible Costs” to attend the PD opportunity. The amount committed and the terms will be outlined in a Contribution Agreement.
Applicants in good standing and with a record of prompt reporting may apply for an advance equal to 75% of the approved contribution of the fund.
Application Process and Assessment
Applications can be submitted at least four weeks in advance of the PD event.
Applications which meet the Eligibility Criteria and are complete will be reviewed by a selection committee including the Training Coordinator of Nunavut FIT and a representative of Makigiaqta.
Applicants will be notified of Nunavut FIT’s decision via email and forwarded a Contribution Agreement for execution of a timely basis.
All information submitted to Nunavut FIT will be strictly confidential.
Reporting
Recipients of the funds under this program will be required to submit a final written report,
no later than forty-five days after the end of their professional development activity.
